One area Malaysians are better than Singaporeans

... it is GUTS.

While Malaysians showed up in great numbers (over 40,000) in our protest rally on the 10th November 2007, only a handful of Singaporeans showed up last weekend in their "Tak Boleh Tahan" rally. And these includes kids!

The handful of brave Singaporeans who protested. Stand up, stand up for Singapore?

As mentioned previously, SDP organised a protest rally on Saturday. But only a few turned up in RED while everyone else in Singapore is busy shopping. I guess either the majority aren't feeling the injustice or are just too apathetic to bother showing up.

If that is the state of democracy in Singapore (judging by the numbers), then I think Malaysians are so much more ahead of Singapore in this area.

Theirs is a very different situation ... although they lack lots of freedom, and the government doesn't tolerate opposition, the powers that be are actually doing a great job. So, in times of prosperity, people just don't want to rock the boat. They want to continue buying their Gucci bags and Zang Toi jackets.

In Malaysia, we're already terdesak. It is a "now or never" kind of situation, and Malaysians feel they have nothing to loose.

But I agree - I have been telling my friends. At least we're doing one thing better than Singapore: We are a few steps closer to democracy than they are.

Haha...nice pictures!

It's hard to make a complaint against the Government in Singapore, since they have practically done everything a good government should be doing for their people.

Maybe they have done way too much :-)

Singaporeans are very obey rules and laws... not like Malaysians. But if the rally is reasonable, it's ok to join, i think.
Malaysia do rocks, sometimes.
