Kick this MIC-key out of Segamat

If you read the news in NST and in Malaysiakini (which is now free for a week!) you get the impression that Segamat will be a walkover for this MIC fellow.


Malaysiakini list 5 Parliamentary seats at risk but it does not include Segamat.

I think Dr SS is far from safe. You see, the last election, he could count on the feel good votes of some Chinese to win with 17,953 votes and 7,809 majority. Of course, he banked on 50% of the Malay votes and all of the Indian votes.

Segamat according to undi.info has 40,983 voters, with Malay: 40.50%, Chinese: 47.50%, Indian: 11.80%, Others: 0.10%.

What he does not know is this:-
There will be more MCA members voting for the DAP candidate! It is not a secret that many members of MCA have been outwardly saying all the right things in front of party chiefs but voting the DAP guy. Why, they can't understand why the MIC gets to rule the town with a chinese majority!

In fact, my prediction is that 80% of the Chinese & Indians will be voting for the opposition this time. And adding 20% of the Malays who are anti-BN to the tally, that will make up at least over 55% of the total votes!

Of course, we don't know how many postal votes will come to the rescue. But I suspect, Segamat will not be a safe bet anymore.
