Our Malaysian Clerks

Letter from LHDN This truly is a real classic!!

A True story...

A taxpayer called up the LHDN (Inland Revenue Board) in Terengganu, and asked for Form B. The LHDN clerk who answered the call asked for the address to send the form to. The conversation goes:

LHDN CLERK : "Boleh bagi alamat encik?" (Can you give me your address?)

TAXPAYER : "Hantar ke Ranhill Worley." (Send to Ranhill Worley)

LHDN CLERKI : "Ranhill... eja macam mana?" (err... How to spell Ranhill?)

TAXPAYER : "R.. for Rumah... A for Ayam.. N for Nangka... H for Holland ... I for itik... L for lain- lain...." (spelling)

LHDN CLERK : "Ok.. nanti kami hantar ke alamat tu" (OK, we will send to that address...)

After waiting for a week, the form arrived - have a look at the address on the envelope!!!

A mother's undying love

Baby rescued from rubble.

There were so many touching stories from the Wen Chuan earthquake but this one stood out.

When rescuers found her, she was already dead, crushed by the collapsed house. Through gaps in the rubbles, they could see her posture. Kneeling on both knees, her entire upper body bent forward, held up by her two hands pressed against the ground, as if performing the ceremonial bow in an ancient ritual. Except, her body had been compressed out of shape and looked somewhat eerie.

With some effort, rescuers carefully removed the debris burying her, found her child lying beneath her, bundled in a little red blanket decorated with yellow flower prints. He was about 3-4 months old.

Shielded by his mother's body , he was totally unharmed, sleeping peacefully as he was brought out. His soundly asleep face warmed the hearts of all rescuers on the scene. As the rescue team's doctor unbundled the blanket to examine the baby, he discovered a mobile phone tucked into the blanket. He subconsciously looked at the display, found there was a SMS message.

"My Dear Baby, If you were to stay alive, you must remember that I love you."

No stranger to the pain and sorrow brought by death, the doctor nonetheless wept at this moment. The cell phone was passed around, every person who read the message wept.

The Attack of the Giant Brassiere

I know men are obsessed about somethings they don't have, but the creator of this World's largest bra is beyond obsession to pure madness. Is he waiting for some ads for sponsorship?
Don't you think Hooters mights be the right people to approach.

Little John's verse

Little John gave us a mighty fright
His darkside loomed o'er the midnight
bewitching us with his spellbinding course
we lay in awe under the four legged cross.

The Day Kuala Lumpur Froze

Imagine being in a mall full of people and suddenly 1000 people just froze! Science fiction?
Read Malaysian Insider's scope on this event.
"At 3.35pm yesterday, a small but highly trafficked section of Kuala Lumpur came to a screeching freeze. The phenomenon occurred at the Pavilion mall in Jalan Bukit Bintang and lasted approximately 5 minutes.A fashion show at the mall's ground floor atrium had just concluded when suddenly, an estimated 1,000 people who had gathered to watch the show ceased to move, sending the rest into confusion. The mall's patrolling security guards were equally bewildered by the sudden non-movement and were observed to be at a loss on what to do. They kept running back and forth and speaking into their walkie-talkies but made no move to question any of the petrified crowd."
No, time did not stand still.

A participant said: “The idea behind the event is that it's not a political statement but a
social statement, that people of different ethnicities, different
classes across a wide section of society could get together to do this
.
After the event, there were random groups of people coming up to you
and talking to you. There was a sense of camaraderie, that cheer of
support; even though what we did was nothing but freeze, we did it
together!”

With Malaysians like these its not surprising then that we had our political tsunami.
